[ooc] Headcanon essay thingy
My canon is so tinyyyyy but it has some sort of depth, and the character with MOST canon is actually Chitose, since he's got a childhood explained etc etc. I am making my headcanon heavily based on the events when he was little, and I am trying to come up with some sort of coherent lifetime until his current canon point. I want to de-age him to teen at least once, so I need some sort of solid personality to go after. So here goes.
When Chitose was ... seven, eight(?) years old, he suffered the loss of his parents, along with thinking he was the one guilty for said loss. They went on a cruise and the boat was exposed to some heavy wind and weather, ending in a tornado which his parent's didn't survive. Before they left for the trip, Chitose tried several times to stop his parents from leaving, telling them he knew the weather and that it was dangerous. They didn't listen and he was left at home. I am... also assuming that at the time, he was pretty well off economically! Since in the flashback, there was a man, very likely a butler of some kind, that referred to Chitose as "The young Master". This is pretty much a sign to me that he was from a family at the top of society. However, the death of his parents seemed to have been the downfall to that wealth, as Chitose as an adult lives in a run down apartment building, all alone.
As a kid, he was happy, but kind of desperate for his parents to be there for him, since they went away a lot. He was also quite anemic and ill most of the time, which resulted in him staying at his room, watching the sky from his window. This is his own explanation to why he's so good at reading the weather. He also claims that due to his illness, or whatever it was, made his body sensitive to the temperature differences in the air. I believe, that while he's much more healthy now as a grown up, Chitose is a bit more suspectible to illnesses than the average person, and if he doesn't take care of himself, he will get sick very easily.
He always tried to cause an uproar of some sort while he was a kid, since he wanted attention from his family, but no one ever believed his weather forecasts, and in the end, that lead to the inevitable as mentioned above. He still blames himself for this as an adult, and I pulled him from a point in canon where he still hasn't come to peace with it. As a result of this blame, he doesn't believe he has a right to be loved/love someone in turn, because he claims he's a murderer. Despite this, he is a very touchyfeely person, and doesn't mind to be close to people. It's when they start to get too close, show their feelings to him that he'll decide to withdraw and push people away from himself.
I believe, that as Chitose grew up, he had to make a life for himself on his own. The butler or some distant relative or an orphanage or somewhat, took care of him until he was fit to take care of himself as a teen. He's probably had his own apartment several times, and moved around to smaller jobs while getting a minor education on weather in general, because that was his only real interest in life at all. As he went to school, he was probably depressed, withdrawn and somewhat distant, which explains why he doesn't really mention having any noteable friends from that time of his life. He learned pretty quickly to smile more, and hide behind these smiles, because it was easier if people didn't know about his past. Not that the smiles are false; they're just... many.
As a teen he was less cheerful than his grown up self, more down to earth and concerned and worried about the people he cared for. Growing up, he realized he needed to put some more trust into persons he knew, and not think they would die the second he put his attention elsewhere. He was a very distraught and worried teen, but gentle. Kind of.
"Forever blaming himself for that one weather forecast he couldn't deliver, Amasawa started working towards becoming a real weatherman, always hiding his regret behind a smile. Living in this empty apartment with nothing but a weather map and the costumes he uses for work..."

I ... don't want to assume too much, but this is my headcanon. I might add more to it later.
Aaah, opinions?
